HUMANE IDEALS:
OUR CORE
BELIEFS:
|
I |
- We
believe an animal's life has dignity and value. |
|
II |
- We
believe that an animal can suffer. |
|
III |
- We
believe any unnecessary suffering is unacceptable. |
|
IV |
- We
believe that love is an action, not an attitude. |
|
V |
- We
believe in nurturing the four kinds of fitness. * |
OUR GOAL:
Riverglen Tigers strives to show "Compassion With Effectiveness"
through the wise, efficient and accountable use of resources.
OUR MISSION:
Riverglen Tigers reduces unnecessary animal suffering through
outreach, sanctuary and education.
*
THE FOUR KINDS OF FITNESS:
-
PHYSICAL FITNESS
is more than basic life support. Animals evolved in a complex
environment, and meeting their whole spectrum of needs makes their
life longer and better.
-
MENTAL FITNESS
is as important in captivity as it is in the wild. It promotes
natural socialization within and between species and reduces
stereotyped, neurotic behaviors.
-
EMOTIONAL FITNESS
is the cornerstone of a compassionate, trusting partnership
between man and animal. When we bring life into the world, we owe
it happiness and contentment.
-
MORAL FITNESS
is a clear understanding of rules and expectations by man and
animal that promotes trust, minimizes stress, reduces accidents
and enhances cooperation.
